Joel Hoffman

Joel Hoffman is an American Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Atlanta, Georgia. Born in Kansas City, Joel moved to Indianapolis when he was five and began playing guitar at age 12. He played in rock bands at an early age and also began experimenting with songwriting. He attended Indiana University and subsequently, departed for Cleveland, Ohio for his Residency. While in Cleveland, he formed a band called The Retractors which drew huge audiences from the medical community. His move to Atlanta in the early 90’s only increased his musical activity, playing in numerous bands combining original and inspired covers.

Ari Music is the home of Joels songwriting catalogue. With an ear for melody, Joel is literate in a range of musical genres, without ever forgetting that ultimately a good song is a good song. Lyrically there is depth and authenticity that is steeped in his experiences and family heritage so listeners can relate to the emotions and themes connecting with the music overall.

Joel’s Father was born in Czechoslovakia and was a Holocaust survivor. Following the war he emigrated to the US and settled in Chicago. Subsequently, he met Joel’s mother at Indiana University. His father’s incredible and inspiring story is captured in the book “Every Day is a Bonus- Finding Life Beyond The Nazi Death Camps”

Joel is currently working with the legendary British Producer Gary Miller (Elton John, Donna Summer, Katy Perry to name but a few) on a number of songs including tracks with the hotly tipped singer Judah Michael.
